As a public relations specialist, Lauren helps enhance Penn State’s reputation and visibility by driving media placements in influential outlets, facilitating outreach to reporters, developing pitches, building and maintaining media lists, and responding to journalists’ requests for faculty expertise. She also monitors and tracks media placements and develops high-level reports for University leadership that capture media coverage.

Prior to joining Strategic Communications, Lauren worked for nearly a decade in news media as a copy editor, page designer, reporter, and managing editor. She holds bachelor’s degrees in political science and print journalism, both from Penn State.
