As a public relations specialist, Katie helps promote Penn State’s groundbreaking research and diverse community to media by building relationships with key journalists and keeping a finger on the pulse of trending news stories and events.

Prior to joining Penn State, Katie led strategic communications teams at FedEx for nearly a decade, with a focus on national consumer media, executive support, and issues management. While there, she won the FedEx Five Star award—the highest award for individuals at FedEx—for her work supporting the company’s e-commerce strategy. Katie started her career at public relations and advertising agencies, supporting various business-to-business and business-to-consumer clients and their communications goals.

Katie is based in Memphis, Tennessee, where she lives with her husband, daughter, and two dogs.
